Institute of Craniofacial Psychology (ICP)
ICP is an institution dedicated to scientific research. It specializes in the study of the relationships and interactions that exist between craniofacial shape, structure and functionality of the brain and the psychological characteristics of human beings.
It was created by the Instituto Superior de Morfopsicología (ISM) in 2014 for the study, promotion, research, dissemination and development of Facial Psychology.
ICP is based in Barcelona and has both a national and international presence. The team has members with extensive research experience who are committed to scientific research of high quality and practicality in the study of basic psychology.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to carry out scientific research in order to better understand the relationships between craniofacial and cerebral shape and functionality (anthropometric variables), temperament, personality and behaviour (psychometric variables).
At ICP we work to increase our knowledge regarding the dynamic functioning of the face-brain-psychology triad.
We use highly specialized techniques for the measurement of these variables (neuroimaging tests, psychometric tests, craniofacial measurement software, …).
Face-Brain-Psychology triad
Our Vision is to become the scientific institution of reference in the study of the face-brain-psychology triad. Our aim is to achieve the following objectives:
- Expand and systematize this knowledge in Psychology and Psychobiology through the study of the face.
- Provide the clinical psychologist with the necessary tools, to help him/her propose personalized interventions tailored to the patient profile.
- Provide useful knowledge to other professional sectors linked to the development of individuals (education, health, human resources department, commercial department, …).
